All I need to say about yardbirds is WOW. This tiny little place did not fall on my list of places I wanted to eat at whenever my husband would ask if we could stop there for the night. He tried it with guys from work and has been obsessed ever since. I'm SO glad he made me try it because it is AMAZING. We get the chicken tender dinner every time- I can't seem to get past it and I don't this I ever want to. It's that good. I get red pepper jam and it comes with sweet tea or lemonade. Best sweet tea ever. We are moving across the country in a few months and my heart breaks thinking about how I wont have a yardbirds to stuff my face with.

My favorite place to get very good fast food. I love the shrimp dinner and the pull pork sandwich with the best fries and please try the cole slaw they have bits of jalapeño that gives it a kick.

I loveee yardbirds granted ive inly tried the chicken tender dinner but its so tasty. I absolutely love their honey mustard dressing and baked beans and also the sweet tea is the best in town! It does always take a long time but to me its always worth it ive never been disappointed and i go at least three times a month. Highly recommended

My first and probably last time there. I've lived in ft Walton for four years now and have always wanted to try yardbirds. They are ALWAYS packed!I gave in and sat in line for ten minutes for four chicken strips because...my luck they are OUT of chicken wings. I thought birds is what you do. How are you out? My strips were soggy and not crisp at all. The sauces were yummy and masked the soggy greasy strips. I called to let them know because they do have a sign that stats ALL ORDERS are COOKED to order...the manager asked if they weren't crispy to my liking...they weren't crispy at all was my reply. I sat on hold for a minute and she came back to offer me more strips or a refund. I just wanted them crispy in the beginning and was headed to work so couldn't go back. I give it a three because the sauces were yummy. service and actual bird ... Not so much.

I fucking love yard birds. The staff is friendly and the food is hot , delicious and made to order. Great selection of sauces to go with your meal. The menu is limited but that's exactly what I like about it. This place knows what they do and they do it well. I always go for the chicken tender dinner with honey mustard and chipotle ranch but the wings, bbq pork and everything else I've tried is great. Love this place.

In town for just a minute decided to stop at yard birds. The stop was well worth it. The tenders are juicy and sauces are great. Let's not forget the cole slaw it has a bit of a kick quite delicious. And if you like your tea sweet then this is the tea for you. We are so happy we stopped here.

I got recommended this place after my wife kept ranting and raving how awesome it is. Once again, the Mrs. was right. For what you're paying, it's worth it. The tea was absolutely perfect, chicken cooked well, and the sauces (I tried the chipotle ranch and BBQ) were great. It's little places like this that punch Popeyes in the face.

Very tasty! French fries fried to perfection with seasoning salt to finish. We got the chicken wings and shrimp and we loved it. Not much bad to say. I wasn't super thrilled about the warm coleslaw. It wasn't supposed to be warm I don't believe. It probably was warm from being in the box with the other food. Tea and lemonade is also delish!

No complaints.. Ribs on Thursday.. Chicken tender box every other day of the week.. I'm thinking its cayenne pepper seasoning mixed with the ranch and on the French Fries, either way it's all good.. Anybody in town needs to hit the drive-thru and pick up a couple few boxes!!

I had the chicken finger dinner. It's a hell of a meal (and comes with a drink) for only 7 bucks. They use a creole style paprika-based seasoning that gives the fingers/fries a really unique flavor compared to competitors. The food was also lightly fried an didn't give me that lead-stomach feeling I usually get from this type of meal. I was a Zaxby's employee for nearly 9 years so I know my chicken fingers, and these are as good as chicken fingers get. I swapped out the slaw for potato salad and I'm glad I did. Very creamy and tasty. Not at all bland like so many potato salads are. My only dislike were the sauces were a bit runny and somewhat bland (house and HM) but honestly this food is good enough to eat without any dipping sauces. Will definitely repeat. I think I will try the shrimp next time.

The pull pork sandwich is amazing!! Every time I go to this place the food is ALWAYS FRESH! The fish is amazing and the fries and chiclet tenders!

I love this place! Disclaimer - I have only ever had the chicken tenders. I don't know what the seasoning is that they use, but it's delicious! Honey mustard sauce, Mac & cheese, baked beans, Texas toast...um yum! What's not to like???

Four and a half stars. I love this little place. My fav is the chicken tender or shrimp dinner with mac & cheese, and potato salad which is seriously delicious. I could swear they put crack in it. Always busy, it's just a quick drive thru or walk up. Very friendly staff.

Place Is super good! Think zaxbys but x1000! Recommend the house and chipotle ranch with the chx tender dinner, also the service is very friendly! Happy Yards birds is a part of Fort Walton Beach!

I only got a chance to eat there once but once was enough to convince me I NEED to eat there as much as possible (my cardiologist may disagree). I had the tenders and was not disappointed. The fries are crinkle cut, not my normal fare but seasoned and delicious. I had the chipotle ranch dipping sauce and the red pepper jam, both were excellent. Will definitely return and I highly recommend...

Small drive thru restaurant only but the food is really good. Tried the chicken tenders with fries and Texas Toast and it was a cheap alternative to the tourist type resturants. Worth the drive away from the beach area.

I went to Yardbirds last night and had to wait over 25 minutes in the drive thru. When I finally received my food and started driving away it was the complete wrong order. When I went back it took almost as long for them to make and give me my actual order, and they acted like they did not care at all about they're mistake and extreme delay. I will not return nor recommend this place based on their horrible service.

Lemme just say this.....THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Granted I've only had the chicken tender dinner, I'm perfectly content with that. The spices on their tenders and fries are awesome. When they ask if what dipping sauces you want, you NEED to get chipotle ranch and you should definitely try the red pepper jam. The tender dinner comes with the fries, slaw and a slice of toast and tea/lemonade. Definitely opt for the sweet tea, you won't be mad about it and you can always substitute the slaw if you're not really a fan and get a little extra fries. The food is great, it's drive through only but they have a couple tables outside the place, but I've never seen anyone there. The line gets backed up pretty good but it's worth it!!

Chicken strip are decent..kids like them..wings are not great..just ok...over fried and drenched in grease...tossed in basic buffalo. Place is not the cleanest. .just pay attention as you roll through..youll will see what I mean.

For about $8 you get a very big portion, I normally can't finish it all. Ya get 4 very crispy chicken tenders(kinda small though) and a dipping sauce, a ton of crinkle cut fries, a side (the beans and slaw are actually very good), and some 'texas toast'. That's all I've tried here so far. Woulda gave it a 3.5 kuz I think the chicken is a little overdone and the price could be slightly cheaper due to the fact I don't always want fries or toast and would prefer more chicken instead. Definitely a good place though. I recommend the honey mustard.

In town on work travel and every time I pass this place during the lunch rush the drive thru line is always long. Since I took a late lunch today I decided to try it. VERY GOOD and you can't be a the price! I got the tender meal (comes with fries, slaw, toast and a drink for $7). Honey mustard dressing was pretty good too. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again.

Stood at the window to have my order taken for at least 10 minutes. No one came to help or acknowledged me or my friend at the window. Finally, we got in the car and went to the drive thru. Fifteen minutes later they took the order from drive thru. Five minutes later we get food and it's missing one of our orders. Was so disgusted that I refused to redo the order. Paid for one order and it was super dry and disappointing. Will not be back after this horrible experience.

I go here once a week with a co-worker. This is our weekly cheat meal. We have been doing this for about 2 years now, they know our order when we drive up to the box and while they aren't like chick-fil-a on friendliness, I don't ever expect that. I come here to get the food and that's what I get. It's always amazing, never have any problems. If you want an excellent chicken tender meal don't bother going to zaxby's or any other chicken place, yardbirds is where you need to go!

It's fried chicken. The set up is weird but it's alright. Wings aren't even close to being as good as Buffalo Reef but they were satisfactory to my wing loving 4 year old. The tenders were much better. I like them better than Zaxby's. Sure, they're a bit salty but it's not a health food restaurant. Mac and cheese was dry and no one wanted to eat it. Fries were okay according to the kid.

Yardbirds is a rock solid four stars, perhaps five in the right circumstance.. Place is legit, simple, and local as far as know.. Genuinely friendly service at both my visits. Chicken is hot, fresh, and delicious.. I've gotten the tender dinner twice now and can't say that I've had better anywhere that I can remember.. Yardbirds is a drive through/walk up joint with a few tables outside that I recommend for scarfing while everything is still piping hot and crispy. Highly recommended to locals and travelers alike!

The wings, chicken tenders and seasoned fries are awesome. Learn from other's mistakes and don't waste your time with the BBQ. Last time I got a sandwich, it seemed like they scrapped the chopping block onto a hamburger bun and served it. It was pretty nasty..

good, cheap & fast. what is not to like? ive had a ton of wings in my time and the traditional buffalo wings meal is almost perfect. for 6 dollars including tea, fries, slaw, carrots and ranch... it is perfect.

For years I have been driving by this little drive thru place and seeing the line of cars always lined up around it and said to myself I need to go there even though I had no clue what they sold..I just knew it had to be something good with the crowds they always had..turns out it's a combination of Wingstop and Zaxby's except this place is very reasonably priced and locally owned...I have to say I was on the "Wing Bandwagon" way back in the late 80's and early 90's back when wings were reasonably priced...ya know when a 10 piece was 5 bucks..a 20 piece was 9 bucks and Wednesday's were 20 cent wing night and Thursday's were AYCE for 7.99...now that they are so popular these days I don't eat them often cause I am appalled at 10 pieces selling for 10...20 pieces are selling for 20 and the specials are now 60 cent wing night and 13.99 for AYCE..wings are not worth that kind of cash in my book..so I was very happy to see this place charged 10.99 for a 20 Piece and so I ordered their Hot Wings and it turns out they were great.also have very good Blue Cheese to dip them in..also tried their Finger Box which came with fries..slaw and bread...they have about 8 different sauces to choose from for the fingers and I tried several of them since extras were only a quarter a pop..I liked the Cajun Ranch and The Honey Mustard a lot..I think on their limited menu I saw they also had Catfish and BBQ but I think the stars here are wings and fingers..this is definitely one of those don't judge a book by it's cover joints...does not look like much but the grub is good and reasonably priced and there are not a lot of places in FWB/Destin you can say that about..great place to call in a big order of wings and fingers and bring them home as you are watching football games in the fall and winter
